Spinosaurus

I'm currently finishing up issue #7 of Stormfront, things are finally moving forward. I should be done either today or tomorrow. I also just finished the 5th cover for the next Anita Blake series, but I can't post the images until they appear in Previews so it will be awhile until I can show you. So here's a new Spinosaurus from the dinosaur blog.

Fair and Balanced

See I'm fair and balanced... like Fox News. Edward Current and his one man War on Atheists. This one's about why Atheists are stupid, or at least not as smart as Christians.

Enjoy as I did! He almost had me convinced;)!

LOL! Funny is Funny!

I happened across this on Yahoo. Before anyone gets all self-righteous this was erected by a church to get people to talk about the Christmas story. Full story here.

Brett

Suffer as I have suffered!

Since I first heard this song I've had it stuck in my head, seriously months ago I was walking around singing the damn thing. And of course since it's time for all the Christmas shows every time I see one of those old stop motion things either at the store or on a commercial it pops right back into my head. So now I pass on the suffering to all of you...Merry Christmas;) BWAHAHAHAH!

We're working on some holiday images, we'll post those soon:)

Horrible Scans of Old Work

Some old commissions I was sent. The scans are horrible at least on the first one. Spidey verses his various foes.

And then Nightwing and Iceman. For some reason people keep wanting me to draw Nightwing. I'm not sure why. I've got a couple of more commissions to send out and then I'm done with them, But I want to know what the hell is up with the shipping? The costs are now outrageous! fedEx 3 day over $25.00? Shipping to Canada over $60.00 for a medium sized box that weighs less than a pound?!?! Oy.

A Bit of Christmas Doom

Death to the world! Cthulhu reigns.

The Great Old Ones Destroy

With wrath and doom, so cruel and foul,

Replete with obscene joy.

He rules the Earth with dreadful might,

And through our ghastly dreams

His twisting turning tentacles

Elicit from us maddened screams.

Cthulhu's time has come.

Militant Atheism, not what you think.

Found over at God is for Suckers.

I haven't really blogged about Atheism in a bit, I still can't get used to the external keyboard (yes we do have another new computer but it can't run our version of Pshop7 so until I get a new one we're stuck using this.) The man in the video, Pat Condell, is basically reading my mind. I want to be nice but the more I read and learn, the more religion, any religion, repulses me to my core. How it's still this popular I have no idea. I'm sick of hearing about the human 'Soul', there is none. It's just you're brain working get over it. If you had a soul then people with brain injuries would still be the same person after the injury, there would be no personality changes.

Just a bit of a reminder to show how 'Militant' we Atheists are.

I happened to see Julia Sweeney's Letting Go of God the other day, a little slow but quite good. I think every religious person should see it. She didn't start out like me, my distaste for religious dogma started when I was young, she was religious, very religious for most of her life. She even thought of being a nun. BUT through reason and critical thinking she came to the conclusion all of us Atheists have, there is no god. It's a bit scary at first, but once you really get there you see how this life is more precious, more important than some made up farcical city in the clouds.

On a lighter note, I happened to see Terminator Salvation last night. I quite liked it, my second favorite Terminator movie after the first one ( the first one being my number 2 movie of all time.)

On to comics, DabelBrothers has sold off/leased some of its titles to Dynamite for a bit. The Dresden stuff being one of them. Right now I'm in contract talks (which I can't stand) so things are a bit up in the air. Hopefully things will get worked out, but you never know. So now I'm, once again, not sure if I'll be drawing the Dresden Files:(

We Don't Really Get Snow

Our elevation simply isn't high enough for snow. When it snows, it's usually slushy and doesn't stick. On the 30th we had just enough snow to turn the yard into mud. Yes, the dogs go out in it. They have a dog door and are allowed out whenever they want, and they love precipitation. Any kind will do. Heavy rains will drive them back into the house, after they've gotten soaked.

I think we've had more freezing nights so far this year than all last winter combined. Everything was frosted this morning, the dog water was frozen and I had to break a half inch of ice in the water tank.

Snow is nice to look at, but really, I'm glad it rarely gets any closer. I'm too well acclimated to the heat to like the cold.

In the Spirit of the Day.. Eat Me!

That is all;)

Brett

Happy Theropod Eating Day!

I even drew one to look like a turkey. Reminiscent of the ones Luis Rey likes to do.

I thought this was appropriate due to recent events in the news.

Anyways, have fun filling you're pie holes with... pie;)

Laughing Corpse #14 cover in color...

Or I guess with different colors. Jess didn't have time to do the colors on this so Marvel had one of their colorists do them for the book. While nice, it like almost all other colorsist's besides Jess, make my art look flat and to me, cheap and lazy. I don't really know why, but it's just the way it is. One of the only other colorists that works well over my pencils is Andrew Dalhouse, he colored this picture, so I sent it off in hopes that any future art I do for Anita that Jess can't color he'll be able to do. Here's hoping:)

So we did get a new computer, but our version of Photoshop is REALLY old so it won't run on it. SOOOO I have to get a new version of Pshop before the new machine can be used... crap.

Laughing Corpse 15 cover

Let's try this again, the dogs deleted the last one, grrr. Jess will be doing the colors on the covers I'm doing for Anita Blake so you'll get to see another 15 colored pieces by Jess.

Icky Insect: the Mighty Mantis

We have a couple of free-standing kennels in the yard, for feeding or temporary containment. This morning I went outside and there were a half dozen dogs gathered around one side of the kennel, trying to get to something inside with their paws. Usually when they do that, it's a big horse lubber grasshopper, sometimes a millipede, and rarely, a rodent. Today it took me a bit to figure out what they were so excited about because it was very small: a baby Mantis, about an inch long. So I took a picture of it and then put it over the fence. The best image turned out to be of it's back, but oh, well. The thing kept leaping at me, it's lucky I didn't let the dogs eat it.

Vampire woman

I also have 2 pages I drew with her on them. I lost interest, it happens. I wanted to do a series of short stories but my inspiration/muse seems to have dried up. It's just as well, I wasn't looking forward to writing it. I'll upload them soon.

The camera Jess ordered should be here on Tuesday (the first one was lost in the mail, thanks USPS! So we had to wait to 'make sure'.) I ordered a new computer yesterday but that's been a complete cock-up so I have to reorder the damn thing hopefully today. This one's been shutting off for no reason... ugh!

Halloween Music

It's time for the annual posting of the Halloween music. No complaints this year about the local stations overplaying Thriller, because I've only heard it during commercials so far this year. Weird. Dead Man's Party seems to have taken it's place.

A cover of Halloween is Every Day by some band called the Way of the Flesh. Different but I liked it.

My favorite Ministry song, Stigmata, live.

Thought this was appropriate, Rob Zombie, Living Dead Girl.

This is Brett's contribution this year, Nature Trail to Hell, Weird Al. All Weird Al's actual videos can't be embedded, but I found this cover done by a bunch of high school kids for a variety show, and they look like they were having a really good time. The guy with the machete gets a real workout.

Happy Halloween!

Pumyra of Thundercats fame

I'm finally done with al the commissions. I just need to scan the last 2 Hurray!!!! I will not be doing any new ones. IF I do sketches for myself I will put them up for sale, but unless it's work for a cover or comic I won't be doing it, sorry.

I was going to try and get these sent out this week, but I have to get the brakes fixed so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do both. If not I'll send the out the beginning of next week.

Brett

Cowboys complete!

I'm finally down to the last commission. It's a trio of Elves (well, one's a pixie) I'm hoping to get that one done on Friday.

Brett

The Joker

Batgirl is surprisingly fun to draw, like Marvel's Thor. And yes, that is Jason Todd's outfit;)

Saw Ice Age 3, MUCH better than #2. Dino's are cool!

My New Digital Camera Comes Tomorrow

Or it's supposed to, anyways. The (almost) never-ending doggy photo stream will resume once I figure out how to work the thing.

New Megaraptor

We finally have a bit of a handle on this type of dino. It turns out the allosaurs split off into 2 groups, the Carcharodonotsaurs and this other group that included Megaraptor, the Neovenators.

More commissions tomorrow, just need to scan the Cowboys part 2, the Joker, and Supergirl and WonderWoman. I only have a few more to do so I'm trying to power through and get them all done this week. I believe I have Pumara from the Tcats and Indiana Jones being chased by a T. rex (I'll have to confirm this is still what is wanted.)

I saw Wolverine, pretty good. better than X-men 3 that's for sure. Transformers 2 SUCKED BALLS! I fell asleep twice. I also saw Dr. Horribles Sing Along Blog.... Fricken LOVED it!

Brett

Blogging will be Thin

Any blogging from me will be light during the next week or so. About five days ago, Tia jumped up and clocked me in the jaw, causing my head to whip around and bounce off a gate. I'm finally getting to the point where my neck isn't killing me, although my head and my teeth on that side are still painful. Thanks, Tia.

I am currently working on a cover for Laughing Corpse. Yes, coloring. Which is hideously time-consuming for me, slow as I am. I have also finally saved up the cash for a better cheap ass camera than the current dying cheap ass camera, so expect more pictures when I am done with the cover.

Character sketches..

..But not what you're used to seeing out of me. I've been busy working on Dresden but everything I've been doing isn't approved yet for the blog. So the 5 anita Blake covers are just sitting on my drive along with some other covers and lots of pages. So in the hopes of keeping you all appeased with new art I give you some character ideas for a not so serious kind of comic;)
Praying Mantis, with his trusty Bible and claws of truth he bugs unbelievers into submission.
Dr. Atheist and his trusty supercomputer Reason 1 (that thing on his lab jacket.) They try to take control of the world using well reasoned arguments and common sense, they are truly evil.
Missing link and Transsional Fossil, they are Dr. Atheists trusty assistants.
Dis-Cypl' and Cresent Moon, they do the Lords work (Lots Of Rightwing Dillweeds.)

IDagent, trying to infiltrait the 'evil' empire of Dr Atheist using his own special brand of 'science'.

StrawMan and his trusty bird 2,3,4 (call him 1,2,3 and he'll peck your eyes out and poop in you're skull. Really, I've seen it happen. I still have nighmares.) He confuses his enemies with thinly vailed arguments.
Black Pontif. Trying to 'reconvert the lost' to reason and science. He's a sort of a free agent who sometimes works with Dr. Atheist. Those aren't crosses he wears, but 't's for 'truth'.

All done on the computer thus the crappyness. Just something fun to mess with;)

Brett

Dresden Files Stormfront Vol2 #3 pages 1-5

Here are the first 5 pages I did of The Dresden Files: Stormfront Volume 2 #3. These have NOT been given final approval so they might change a bit.

I hope I got most of it right, I sort of winged the power stuff on the last page, trying to show his shield bracelet filling space in the elevator was ... difficult. But on the plus side I did get to draw that scorpion;)

Best,

Brett
